Mucous Cyst of the Finger

Abstract
|
|
|
Muncous cyst is a ganglion of the DIP joint of fingers usually occurs between the fith and seventh decades and is eccentrically located along the lateral border of the extensor tendons or on the marigns of the nails.
Mucous cyst frequently recur whichever type of treatment is given. We have experienced two cases of the mucous cysts of the fingers. One, was 61 years old female, the other, 67 years old male, respectively and they have shown osteoarthritic
change
in
DIP joints of middle fingers of right hands with localizing pain and tenderness.
We have managed with excision of the cyst combined with debridement of the osteophytes at the joint margin.
